Racing banned from 2014-15 Copa

Paco Fernandez was full of praise for Racing Santander supporters after his player's striked in the Copa del Rey quarter-final.

Racing-Real Sociedad match suspended

Racing Santander players boycotted their Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Real Sociedad to protest unpaid wages.

The Racing Santander-Real Sociedad Copa del Rey second-leg match was suspended on Thursday after Racing players formed a semicircle on  the pitch after kick-off and refused to play in protest over alleged non-payment of salaries.

Atletico, Racing reach Copa last 8

Cup holder Atletico Madrid compounded Valencia's sluggish La Liga campaign by knocking them out of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday with a 2-0 home victory in the second leg and a 3-1 win on aggregate.

Meanwhile, third-tier Racing Santander shrugged off its financial woes to win 2-0 at top flight Almeria and reach the quarterfinals of the cup alongside Atletico.

Barcelona cruise in Copa del Rey

Barcelona have one foot in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey after cruising to a 4-1 victory over Cartagena in the first-leg of their round of 32 clash.

Playing at home, Cartagena, who currently occupy one of the promotion play-off spots in Segunda B, took a shock 16th minute lead through Fernando before Barcelona pushed ahead before half-time with strikes to Pedro and Cesc Fabregas.
