Queen's Park maintained their chase for automatic promotion after edging out Morton 2-1 at Links Park.

Forward John Carter put the visitors in front after 25 minutes with a delightful finish past goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie.

They extended their lead 12 minutes later after midfielder Darren Miller's corner was headed in by Paul Woods at the back post.

Queen's Park won for the eighth time in nine matches when Gus MacPherson's men beat East Stirling 3-0 at Hampden. The hosts took the lead when Bryan Wharton wriggled free of his marker to head home after a pinpoint cross from Darren Miller. Queen's Park moved within two points of leaders Arbroath with a comfortable 2-0 win against Clyde in Scottish League Two.

Defender Shaun Rooney headed the visitors in front on four minutes when he met a Darren Miller corner.

Clyde goalkeeper Alan Martin then pulled off a brilliant save to prevent Miller's 25-yard free-kick from curling into the top corner.
