Marius Zaliukas and Bilel Mohsni made up for a shaky defensive display by netting goals that helped Rangers twice come from behind to beat Queen of the South 4-2 at Ibrox.

Zaliukas cancelled out Gavin Reilly's opener when he headed home but his mistake allowed Queens to regain the lead through Iain Russell.

David Templeton finished brilliantly to level the scores within a minute of coming on as a half-time substitute and Mohsni headed Rangers in front in the 64th minute.

Livingston maintained their unbeaten start to the season when edging out Queen of the South 1-0 in the closing stages of extra time in the tightest of Scottish League Cup ties.

Neither side could break the deadlock in the first half, but Livingston's Burton O'Brien skimmed the top of the net with a fair free-kick effort and Keaghan Jacobs forced Zander Clark into a fine save.

Clark was called into action again soon after the break when making a double save from Kyle Jacobs and Jordan White, while ...

Queen of the South claimed a 1-1 draw at home to Livingston despite being reduced to 10 men at Palmerston Park.

James Fowler was dismissed with 20 minutes to go but the home team clung on to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Queens took the lead just after half an hour after Kyle Jacobs turned a Daniel Carmichael cross into his own net, and could have had more after a mad scramble in the Livingston area but for the keeping of Darren Jamieson.

Livi's pressure mounted and Zander Clark brou...

Queen of the South eased to a 4-0 victory in blustery conditions and condemned Dumbarton to a second successive Scottish Championship defeat.

The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes, with Derek Lyle sliding in his second league goal in as many games following a poor back pass from Dumbarton's Scott Linton.

Queens made it 2-0 five minutes after the break, with Gavin Reilly grabbing his second of the season with a header into the top corner from Lyle's cross.

Queen of the South striker Derek Lyle recorded the first goal of the new Scottish Championship season as his seventh-minute strike set up a comfortable 2-0 win against Alloa.

The home side bagged their early lead when Lyle finished smartly from the centre of penalty area, prompting the Palmerston Park fans to sing "We are top of the league!"

Their euphoria was doubled when Gavin Reilly extended the advantage not long before the interval following a quick breakaway, the striker scoring with a left...
