Alex Morgan gets some work in during an offseason practice session and drains a couple of goals.
Julie Foudy breaks down the USWNT's first tournament under Vlatko Andonovski and his experimentation with different lineups.

The Portland Thorns have acquired two-time World Cup winner Becky Sauerbrunn from the Utah Royals, the NWSL clubs announced on Tuesday.

The Thorns traded defender Elizabeth Ball and $100,000 in allocation money to the Royals in exchange for one of the best-known defenders in the history of women's soccer. In addition to two World Cup titles and 174 caps for the U.S., Sauerbrunn is the four-time NWSL Defender of the Year and a member of the league's Best XI in each of its first seven seasons.

Raso to join Kerr in English Women's Super League

Hayley Raso has played 40 times for Australia.

Matildas winger Hayley Raso will join Sam Kerr in England's Women's Super League, with a move to Everton appearing done and dusted.

Raso was a notable exclusion from Brisbane's squad on Thursday for the Roar's W-League match against Sydney FC, instead heading off to England to sign a six-month contract with the Toffees.

The 25-year-old famously recovered from a broken back to make the Matildas' 2019 World Cup squad.

She will become the second Australian in the English competition after Kerr's much-anticipated...

After frenzied trading that saw the second, third and fourth picks change hands on draft day, the Thorns also moved up to select Washington State forward Morgan Weaver with the No. 2 pick.

Alex Morgan gets some work in during an offseason practice session and drains a couple of goals.

The Portland Thorns acquired the No. 1 pick in next week's National Women's Soccer League college entry draft from the Orlando Pride, sparking new intrigue in what had been viewed as a potentially lackluster event.

The Thorns sent the Pride defender Emily Sonnett, who was the No. 1 overall pick in 2016 and a World Cup winner with the United States last summer, as well as the rights to Australian international Caitlin Foord and their own first- and second-round picks in the upcoming draft.

CARY, N.C. -- Debinha scored on a free kick in extra time to snap a tie, and the North Carolina Courage went on to defeat Reign FC 4-1 in extra time Sunday to advance to the National Women's Soccer League championship game.

The Courage, winners of the NWSL Shield for the third straight year with a league-best 15-5-4 record, will host the Chicago Red Stars, who beat the Portland Thorns 1-0 in the other semifinal.

Heather O'Reilly, who is retiring at the end of this season, scored on a penalty kick...
