Peterhead moved above Ayr into second place in Ladbrokes League One thanks to a 2-1 win at Somerset Park.

Shane Sutherland rifled home the opening goal for Peterhead in the 22nd minute, but just three minutes later the hosts were level as Craig Moore's low shot from the centre of the area found the net.

Rory McAllister restored Peterhead's lead four minutes before the break with another well-placed low shot.

Ayr had the better of the second half, but failed to fashion any clear-cut chances and Peterhead...

Rory McAllister and Shane Sutherland both bagged second-half braces as Peterhead came from behind to beat fellow play-off hopefuls Albion 5-1 and extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches.

Albion made a dream start when they were awarded a penalty inside the first 30 seconds after Scott McBride was fouled by Scott Ross and McBride stepped up to put the spot-kick past Graeme Smith.

The advantage lasted just eight minutes though, with Peterhead quickly responding as James Redman headed in from close range...

Leaders Dunfermline blew the chance for a sixth-straight Scottish League One victory by drawing a blank at Peterhead.

The stubborn hosts, themselves on a fine run of four wins on the trot, frustrated runaway leaders Dunfermline who were unable to break the deadlock in the 0-0 draw and further consolidate control of the division.

The 1-0 Scottish FA Cup replay defeat at Premiership opponents Ross County could perhaps account for Dunfermline's sluggish showing here.

Shane Sutherland shone as Peterhead surged to a 5-1 victory at Stranraer.

The striker opened the scoring after he was picked out expertly by Rory McAllister and placed the ball coolly past Max Currie.

He then made it 2-0 after heading home Steven Noble's long ball.

The in-form signing from Elgin seized on a poor back-pass to set up James Stevenson for a third before half-time and effectively put the game beyond Brian Reid's men.

Ryan Thomson set up Craig Malcolm to reduce the arrears, but Ally Gilchrist...

Peterhead cut the gap on second-placed Ayr to four points in Ladbrokes Scottish League One after a thumping 4-1 victory over Stenhousemuir.

The Blue Toon were in front after just five minutes thanks to James Redman's glancing header but, after floodlight failure had temporarily suspended the game, the visitors levelled just after the half hour through Alan Cook's stunning blast into the top corner.

James Stevenson re-established Peterhead's lead in the 53rd minute with a wonderful strike while Rory...
