Peterborough lost two players but won 1-0 at the Proact Stadium to boost their play-off chances and leave Chesterfield in relegation trouble.

Debutant Tom Nichols scored early in the second half, but Posh had Michael Smith and Ricardo Almeida Santos sent off in a game dominated by wind and rain.

Peterborough had the first chance in the 20th minute when Lee Angol played in Shaquile Coulthirst, but his low shot struck the legs of Tommy Lee and five minutes later Lee Novak was denied by Ben Alnwick.

Peterborough twice fought back from a goal down to earn a FA Cup replay with West Brom as it finished 2-2 after a thrilling finale at The Hawthorns.

It looked like Saido Berahino's early strike would be all that separated the sides but three goals in eight frantic minutes mean the League One promotion hopefuls will get another chance at the ABAX Stadium next month.

Shaquile Coulthirst equalised after 79 minutes but Berahino quickly restored West Brom's lead before substitute Jon Taylor levelled things...

Burton Albion moved back to the top of League One with a comfortable 1-0 win at Peterborough.

Tom Naylor struck early for the visitors who moved above Gillingham after a fourth straight away win without conceding.

Burton only needed three minutes to take the lead as Stuart Beavon won the ball off Harry Toffolo just inside the Peterborough half. He then played in Mark Duffy down the right whose squared ball across the goal was tapped in by Naylor at the back post.

Toffolo was carried off at the end of...

Bradley Dack's 14th goal of the season helped Gillingham come from behind to beat promotion rivals Peterborough 2-1 and return to the top of the Sky Bet League One table.

The visitors opened the scoring on 25 minutes, as Erhun Oztumer fired home from close range after a well-worked United free-kick that also involved Jon Taylor and debutant Shaquile Coulthirst.

Starting his first game for the Gills since mid-October, Luke Norris levelled the game four minutes after the break, neatly slotting past...

Striker Shaq Coulthirst has joined Peterborough United from Tottenham in a permanent deal.

Coulthirst, 21, came through Spurs' academy and made one senior appearance as a late substitute in the 4-1 Europa League win over Anzhi Makhachkala in December 2013.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed on Twitter that Coulthirst had signed a three-and-a-half year deal and said the League One club had beaten a former Premier League outfit, likely to be Wigan, to his signature.

MacAnthony described Tottenham...
