Partizan Belgrade issue apology over offensive banner; UEFA investigating

Tottenham took one point away in Belgrade against Partizan, the only good thing in a boring draw in the kick off of their Europa League group stage.

Partizan Belgrade have issued an apology after a number of their fans displayed an anti-Semitic banner during Thursday's Europa League draw with Tottenham.

UEFA confirmed on Friday afternoon that it will address the matter at the start of next month in a statement that read:  "Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against FK Partizan for racist behaviour of their supporters, field invasions by supporters, setting-off of fireworks and use of laser pointer. Tottenham rally to win in Cyprus

Roberto Soldado celebrates scoring Tottenham's equaliser on Thursday against AEL Limassol.

Tottenham came from behind to take a 2-1 win in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying play-off against AEL Limassol.

The hosts took a 14th minute lead through Adrian Sardinero and it held until 16 minutes from time, when Roberto Soldado levelled for the Londoners.

Harry Kane then struck the winner with 10 minutes to go.

Hull slipped to a 1-0 defeat away to Lokeren after Allan McGregor's mistake gifted Hans Vanaken an easy goal.

UCL: Celtic suffer heavy defeat

Ronny Deila is under huge pressure at Celtic now.

Celtic are facing the prospect of missing out on qualifying for the UEFA Champions League group stages after a heavy defeat in their third qualifying round first-leg encounter against Legia Warsaw.

Ronny Deila's 10-man side fell to a 4-1 defeat in the Polish capital, although the match started brightly for the Hoops when Callum McGregor scored the opening goal of the game in the eighth minute.

That is as good as it got for the Scottish champions as Miroslav Radovic equalised for the hosts two minutes...

Celtic reach third qualifying round

Celtic eased through to the Champions League third qualifying round with an emphatic 4-0 win over KR Reykjavik at the BT Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh.

Leading 1-0 from the first-leg in Iceland and starting the match in top gear, Celtic wasted little time as defender Virgil van Dijk helped himself to a brace within 20 minutes to ensure a comfortable night for the Scottish champions.
