Sevilla demand at least €40 million for striker Kevin Gameiro

Kevin Gameiro scored 29 goals for Sevilla last season.

Sevilla will not sell star striker Kevin Gameiro for less than €40 million, club vice-president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco has said.

The Europa League champions have had a busy summer ahead of Jorge Samapoli's first campaign with the club, signing Brazilian Ganso, Palermo's Franco Vazquez,  Atletico Madrid's Matias Kranevitter on loan, ex-Sampdoria winger Joaquin Correa, Pablo Sarabia from Getafe and Hiroshi Kiyotake from Hannover.

Lille director Jean-Michel Vandamme does not think that Patrick Kluivert is an ideal choice to be Paris Saint-Germain's director of football.

Former Netherlands striker Kluivert, 40, was unexpectedly appointed to the position on Thursday.

The ex-Ajax, AC Milan and Barcelona player finished his playing career at Lille in 2008 before working as assistant manager to Louis van Gaal during Netherland's run to the 2014 World Cup semifinals.

PSG appoint Patrick Kluivert as new director of football

Manager Unai Emery and midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa were both introduced at Paris Saint-Germain during a press conference.

Former Netherlands international Patrick Kluivert has been appointed director of football at Paris Saint-Germain, the French champions have announced.

The arrival of the 40-year-old follows the appointment of Unai Emery as head coach, replacing Laurent Blanc last month.

PSG say Kluivert will "play an active role in the national and international development of the club" and "defining the club's long-term sporting strategy."

Barcelona have officially presented left-back Lucas Digne after completing his €16.5 million signing from Paris Saint-Germain.

France international Digne completed his medical and signed a five-year contract on Thursday, having undergone an operation on his nose the previous day.

After being presented on the Camp Nou pitch, Digne said: "I am very happy to be a Barca player, it is a great club and it is a great day for me."
