Adrien Rabiot's season ends with a whimper as PSG farewells Unai Emery, Thiago Motta

ESPN FC's Raphael Honigstein discusses the man-management challenges that await newly appointed PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Paris Saint-Germain finished the Ligue 1 season with a dour 0-0 draw away at Caen on Saturday, where the only positive was the use of a high concentration of youth academy graduates at Stade Michel d'Ornano.

Positives

Aside from the first competitive start handed to Timothy Weah and Yacine Adli's substitute appearance, there was nothing even remotely positive on display in Normandy.

Negatives

There were flaws across the park, but once again they were all rendered trivial by the fact that PSG had nothing left to play for. Fans and pundits alike placed zero importance on the match and plenty of players had this summer's World Cup in Russia to consider too.

Manager rating out of 10

3 -- Unai Emery looked as disinterested as most of the players on the pitch and as relieved as them come full-time -- it is over.

Player ratings (1-10; 10 = best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)

GK Alphonse Areola, 6 -- PSG's best player, overall, he made a few important saves -- notably in the first half.

DF Thomas Meunier, 5 -- Solid enough, considering there was little to play for, it sends him off to the World Cup in Russia closer to optimum match fitness.

DF Marquinhos, 5 -- Like most of his teammates, it was a question of not over-exerting himself and he performed better than most without excelling.

DF Presnel Kimpembe, 4 -- Less influential than Marquinhos, but solid all the same, it was a calm and composed end to the season.

DF Yuri Berchiche, 4 -- Started the campaign as Layvin Kurzawa's backup and finished it established as a starter ahead of the Frenchman -- even in such a meaningless match.

MF Thiago Motta, 5 -- Bar a speculative half-volley in the first half, his final 90 minutes in professional football were hardly memorable.

MF Lassana Diarra, 5 -- Another 90-minute outing that did little to change the idea that his January acquisition was an error.

MF Adrien Rabiot, 4 -- His season should have finished with a bang in Russia. Instead, it ended with a whimper in Caen.

FW Javier Pastore, 4 -- Another illustration as to why he will not be representing Argentina at this summer's World Cup.

FW Timothy Weah, 5 -- After an eventful start, which featured a booking, he remained lively but ultimately was unable to impact the game as much as he clearly wanted to after being given a rare chance to gain some experience.

FW Christopher Nkunku, 5 -- Another outing in attack, this one saw him form part of an unfamiliar, untried and unsuited front three, with disappointing results.

Substitutes

FW Yacine Adli, NR -- The youth academy graduate looks set to pen professional terms and finally made the breakthrough at senior level with a few minutes to go -- big things are expected next season.

DF Kevin Rimane, NR -- The youth academy product was given a few minutes at the end in Marquinhos' place to ensure that his teammate did not pick up a pre-World Cup injury.
