PAOK Salonika sack Igor Tudor, appoint Vladimir Ivic as successor

Igor Tudor was appointed PAOK Salonika boss last summer.

PAOK Salonika have fired coach Igor Tudor and replaced him with youth-team coach Vladimir Ivic.

Tudor, a former Croatia international, arrived at PAOK last summer, signing a three-year deal with the club.

However, the Greek side confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the 37-year-old has been dismissed due to "unsuccessful results" -- which have seen them slip to fourth in the Greek Super League, 29 points off the top.

Greek Cup canceled by government after violence in semifinal

ATHENS, Greece -- Greece's government has canceled the Greek Cup a day after a semifinal was stopped because of fan violence.

The sports ministry announced the decision on Thursday following the violence in the northern city of Thessaloniki, where fans of local club PAOK threw flares onto the pitch and clashed with riot police on the field.

The game was stopped in the 90th minute as Olympiakos led 2-1.

The other semifinal featured AEK Athens and Atromitos, and the final was scheduled for April 2...

Borussia Dortmund condemn violence during Europa League game at PAOK

Borussia Dortmund have strongly condemned the crowd violence that caused a stoppage in their Europa League match against PAOK in Greece and resulted in the arrest of eight visiting fans.

The trouble started shortly before the second half began when some Dortmund supporters lit flares and fireworks, with English referee Anthony Taylor forced to briefly hold up play in the 48th minute.

Dimitar Berbatov joins PAOK Salonika on free transfer

Dimitar Berbatov helped Monaco reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League last season..

Dimitar Berbatov has signed for Greek club PAOK Salonika on a free transfer.

Berbatov, 34, released by Monaco in the summer, was believed to be set to complete a deadline day move to Aston Villa on Tuesday.

However, according to Sky Sports, an agreement over the former Bulgaria international's personal terms was unable to be reached and PAOK have now moved to snap him up.
