PSL wrap: Wins for Pirates, SuperSport

Orlando Pirates moved up to second in the Premier Soccer League standings following a 1-0 win against Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday evening.

The Buccaneers endured their worst-ever campaign last season, but have started life under Milutin Sredojevic much improved. They moved up to second following the win against a struggling Urban Warriors side, with Ghanaian forward Bernard Morrison getting the only goal.

That leaves Pirates level on points with surprise-package Maritzburg United, who remain unbeaten...

Big deals mark end of South African transfer window

The transfer window in South Africa's Premier Soccer League slammed shut with a bang on Thursday after a number of high-profile deals on deadline day.

One of these saw a star name depart the league as reigning PSL Player of the Season Lebogang Manyama joined Turkish side Konyaspor from Cape Town City for a fee believed to be €800 000. That transfer is subject to a medical, but that is unlikely to be an issue and will be conducted when Manyama has completed his national team duty with Bafana...

Orlando Pirates sell striker to Saudi club

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that a deal has been reached to sell striker Tendai Ndoro to Saudi Arabia club Al-Faisaly.

The 32-year-old burst onto the South African scene after joining Mpumalanga Black Aces from Chicken Inn in his native Zimbabwe four years ago.

A seemingly dream move to the Buccaneers followed in 2015, but after a bright start he faded away, scoring just one goal after the turn of the year. He has been in an out of the side recently, and will now hope for better fortunes at Al-Faisaly,...

PSL wrap: Kaizer Chiefs held in league opener

Kaizer Chiefs let a lead slip in Bloemfontein in their Premier League opener on Sunday to mount more pressure on coach Steve Komphela.

The Amakhosi were desperate for a good start following last weekend's first round MTN8 Cup exit, and got it early on against Celtic when Erick Mathoho headed home from a free-kick.

However, Lorenzo Gordinho's handball in the 75th minute allowed Atusaye Nyondo a chance to equalize from the spot, and the Malawian made no mistake from the spot.

In the day's other game,...

Micho Sredojevic threatens Uganda over $54,000 debt

Former Uganda coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has warned the Ugandan federation to pay the debt they owe him or risk being sanctioned by FIFA.

Sredojevic guided Uganda to the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year after a near-four-decade absence from the continental showpiece, but terminated his contract with the Ugandan FA on July 28th citing non-payment of his outstanding arrears and bonuses.

In total, the Serbian coach claims that he's owed $54,000 by FUFA.

"Through my agent Ivica Stankovic...
