Jonathan Spector shelves Premier League ambition for Orlando adventure

Speaking before the move was confirmed, ESPN FC's Ross Dyer discusses Jonathan Spector and Orlando City.

Jonathan Spector found the idea of joining Orlando City so compelling, he was willing to give up on a dream to make it happen.

Spector joined the Lions last month, but prior to that move he had been the rare American player who had spent his entire career overseas, in his case playing 14 seasons with clubs in the top two tiers of English soccer. Orlando adds keeper Josh Saunders; Mix Diskerud also set to leave NYCFC

Josh Saunders found himself surplus to NYCFC's needs and now moves to Orlando.

Goalkeeper Josh Saunders has found a new home in Orlando City after falling out of favor at New York City FC.

Saunders, 35, started every game for NYCFC last season until the regular season finale, and Eirik Johansen was also preferred to start in the playoffs.

NYCFC also acquired former Chicago Fire keeper Sean Johnson, which allowed the club to let Saunders go in exchange for only a fourth-round pick in the 2019 SuperDraft.

Minnesota United signs Kevin Molino from Orlando City in major MLS trade

Kevin Molino
Kevin Molino had 11 goals with eight assists for Orlando City last season.

Minnesota United acquired midfielder Kevin Molino from Orlando City in a trade for $650,000 in allocation money on Thursday.

Orlando received $450,000 in general allocation money and $200,000 in targeted allocation money in the deal, which also sees goalkeeper Patrick McLain move to Minnesota.

The allocation money that Minnesota paid is among the higher prices ever paid between MLS teams, which only started releasing that data publicly this offseason.
