Chuba Akpom leaves Arsenal for Nottingham Forest on loan

Chuba Akpom has made three Premier League appearances this season.

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has signed for Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.

Akpom, 19, has made his senior breakthrough at Arsenal this season, totalling seven appearances in all competitions -- all of which have been as a substitute.

The England under-20 international signed a new long-term deal with the Gunners in February and has now been loaned out to Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the campaign.

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop says it was a tale of two halves at St. James Park on Saturday.

Norwich City and Nottingham Forest are battling it out to sign Arsenal starlet Chuba Akpom on loan for the remainder of the season.

Akpom, 19, has been capped by England through to under-20 level and has made four Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger's side. He penned a new long-term contract at the Emirates last month.

The striker has already had spells on loan at Brentford and Coventry City last year, though he is yet to score his first senior goal.
