Kaid Mohamed and Marc Richards helped themselves to two goals apiece as Northampton thumped Hartlepool 5-1.

Charlie Wyke had given Hartlepool a first-minute lead, beating Jordan Archer from 12 yards after being picked out by Tommy Miller, but that was as good as it got for Pools.

Ryan Cresswell went close with a header before Richards equalised from a 12th minute penalty after Stuart Parnaby fouled Mohamed.

Chris Hackett and Lawson D'Ath both had efforts saved by Scott Flinders before Cobblers took...

Newport extended their unbeaten run to four games after they held off Northampton to claim a 3-2 victory at Rodney Parade.

Chris Zebroski set the tone before goals from Darren Jones and Lee Minshull looked to have wrapped up the game.

But late strikes from Lawson D'Ath and Marc Richards had County fans sweating until the final whistle.

Zebroski got the Exiles off to a flying start after 18 minutes.

Lee Minshull rose above team-mate Aaron O'Connor after Ryan Jackon's cross to flick the ball to the waiting...

Everton sign Fraser Hornby, 15, under youth development system

Everton have signed 15-year-old midfielder Fraser Hornby from League Two side Northampton Town under a youth development system initiated by the Premier League.

Hornby is moving to Merseyside under the terms of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), which allows teams to buy young players from lower league sides for set fees, rather than through a tribunal system.

Everton will pay an initial fee of 65,500 pounds for Hornby, and they could pay a further 1.3 million pounds if he goes on to play...

Marc Richards' first half double ensured Northampton kept up their unbeaten streak against Dagenham with a 2-0 win at Victoria Road.

The Cobblers haven't loss in nine attempts against the Daggers and Richards put them on course when he side-footed Kaid Mohamed's centre past home goalkeeper Liam O'Brien on eight minutes.

Northampton stopper Matt Duke did tip over an Ashley Hemmings header, but the visitors were dominant for the most part and Richards doubled their lead on 23 minutes when Joel Byrom's...

Marc Richards grabbed the late winner as Northampton beat Exeter 1-0 at Sixfields.

Injury-hit Exeter struggled to contain the Cobblers early on but managed to keep them out through a combination of resolute defending and poor finishing from the hosts.

From Chris Hackett's testing cross, Emile Sinclair, Richards and Joel Byrom all failed to scramble the ball home and Zander Diamond headed wide from a corner.

City gradually worked their way into the game, Arron Davies headed wide from a corner before...
