John-Joe O'Toole scored his second goal in as many games to give Northampton their first away win of the season as they beat Swindon 3-1 at the County Ground.

Northampton's lead came after just seven minutes when Paul Anderson weaved his way into the box before his low cross found Harry Beautyman who slid in from close range.

Northampton got back to winning ways with a 4-0 demolition of 10-man Southend.

Two goals after the restart from John-Joe O'Toole and Alex Revell, from the penalty spot after Jason Demetriou was sent off, put Cobblers in control before Matt Taylor and Paul Anderson wrapped it up.

Sam Hoskins tested Southend goalkeeper Mark Oxley who then struggled to keep out Taylor's low drive.

Gabriel Zakuani's block prevented Stephen McLaughlin from giving the visitors the lead before Jermaine McGlashan fired at Adam...

Man United's Jose Mourinho wanted red card for tackle on Memphis Depay

ESPN FC's Raphael Honigstein says it's been a while since Jose Mourinho has been able to connect with his players like he did early in his career.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho continued his complaints about referees by saying that his team should have been playing against 10 men in their 3-1 win against Northampton Town -- after a "dangerous" challenge on Memphis Depay.

Northampton midfielder Jak McCourt produced a reckless challenge on the Dutchman early in the second half, while the score was 1-1, but he was only booked by referee Stuart Attwell. Mourinho also complained about the officiating decisions against his team when United...

Carrick stakes his claim as Man United make life difficult in 3-1 EFL Cup win

The ESPN FC team share their thoughts on how Jose Mourinho should proceed with Wayne Rooney's playing time this weekend.

Three thoughts from Manchester United's 3-1 win over Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.

1. United win but make life hard for themselves

Jose Mourinho can head home a relieved man after ending a three-game losing run in all competitions, but Manchester United made life unnecessarily hard for themselves in their 3-1 win at Northampton Town in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night. Although they had the second-half satisfaction of seeing Ander Herrera rifle the ball in before Marcus Rashford walked in one of...
