Nice coach Lucien Favre has told UEFA.com that Mario Balotelli has made great progress during his time at the club.

After making a surprise switch to relaunch his career at Nice in 2016 after he had struggled at Liverpool, Balotelli enjoyed an impressive maiden season in France, tallying a career-best 15 goals from just 20 Ligue 1 starts.

Mario Balotelli has impressed for Nice in recent weeks.

Italy coach Giampiero Ventura says the door to the national team is still open for Mario Balotelli, although he adds the Nice forward has yet to completely convince him that he is a reformed man.

With Andrea Belotti pulling out of Italy's World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia in Turin on Friday and Albania in Tirana next Tuesday, there had been renewed calls for Balotelli to return.

Radamel Falcao's brace caps Monaco's win over Lille; Nice held by Angers

Radamel Falcao scored twice as Monaco ran out 4-0 winner on Friday.

Radamel Falcao scored a brace as Monaco thrashed Lille 4-0 to maintain the pressure on Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

The Colombian was on target twice after the break, with first-half efforts from Stevan Jovetic and Rachid Ghezzal setting the principality side on their way to a sixth win from seven in the league this term.

Jovetic opened the scoring after 24 minutes when he turned his defender on the edge of the box and fired home a low effort.

Barcelona target Jean Seri set to remain at Nice until season's end

Nice midfielder Jean Seri has vowed to remain at the Allianz Riviera until at least the end of the season, despite being heavily linked with a move to Barcelona throughout the summer.

Ivory Coast international Seri made no secret of his disappointment after a proposed move to the Camp Nou broke down at the death, but despite his public criticism of the Aiglons' hierarchy, he's confirmed that he will not seek a move away from the club in January.
