Former Fulham assistant Scott Miller becomes Newcastle Jets head coach

Newcastle Jets fans will have a new look coaching staff to cheer on in the 2015-16 season.

Former Fulham assistant manager Scott Miller has become the youngest head coach in A-League history after being appointed by the Newcastle Jets on Thursday.

The 33-year-old takes the vacant position which was occupied by Phil Stubbins until he was sacked last month when Football Federation Australia took over the club from owner Nathan Tinkler.

Newcastle Jets' A-League licence voided by Football Federation Australia

In the 2014-15 season, the Newcastle Jets finished last in the A-League with only three wins in 27 games.

Newcastle Jets had their A-League licence terminated by Football Federation Australia on Wednesday.

The move comes for the alleged non-payment of players and failure to meet operational requirements, FFA said in a statement.

Earlier, the foundation club of the Australian domestic competition had been placed into voluntary administration by its owners, Hunter Sports Group (HSG).

SYDNEY -- The owner of the Newcastle Jets has been cited by Football Federation Australia for a code of conduct violation following a tirade against a journalist after an A-League match last weekend.

The FFA on Friday gave Nathan Tinkler until May 1 to explain why he should not be sanctioned for his outburst following the Jets' 4-3 loss to Sydney FC.

Sanctions can include a reprimand, a fine or a ban from entering a stadium.
