Former Rev Marshall Leonard joins New York City virus battle as physician

Former MLS player and current doctor Marshall Leonard sheds light on his efforts to fight coronavirus.

Former New England Revolution defender Marshall Leonard has traded in his soccer uniform for one of an attending physician in a New York City-area hospital.

Leonard's newest job -- which will be in a region that has been hit extremely hard by the coronavirus pandemic -- was revealed by his brother on social media.

Marshall Leonard recorded one goal and two assists in 63 career games with New England from 2002-07.

Ex-New England Revolution, USMNT player John DeBrito dies aged 51

John DeBrito, an original member of the New England Revolution, died at age 51.

The cause of DeBrito's death on Wednesday was not immediately known.

"The club sends its condolences to the family and loved ones of John DeBrito, a 1996 original draftee & member of the #NERevs," the Revolution wrote on Twitter.

DeBrito, who was a defender and a midfielder, made six appearances with the U.S. Men's National Team from 1991-92.
