Goldman Sachs helping Revolution finance stadium plan

The Revolution share Gillette Stadium with the NFL's New England Patriots.

BOSTON -- The New England Revolution have brought in Goldman Sachs to help put together the financing for a soccer-only stadium in Boston, according to a report.

The Boston Globe reported that the Major League Soccer team has been working with the New York investment firm since at least December.

The newspaper said it obtained documents obtained through a public records request that noted Goldman Sachs' intentions of serving as an "underwriter on a future transaction."

DC United beat RSL on record day for goals; NYCFC lose in Lampard's debut

DC United became the first team in MLS history to come back from two goals down in back to back games as they outlasted RSL in a 10-goal thriller.

Perry Kitchen broke a 4-4 tie in the 79th minute and DC United beat Real Salt Lake 6-4.

The 10 goals fell one short of the MLS single-game record.

Kitchen's header, off of a long service from Taylor Kemp, beat Jeff Attinella for the difference-maker. Nick Deleon's left-footed blast from way outside provided insurance six minutes later.

The teams combined for seven goals in the second half, one short of the record for most goals in a half.

Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane will not be able to play on Wednesday.

LA Galaxy stars Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane have been ruled out of the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday with injuries, while United States captain Michael Bradley will also miss the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Gerrard was named to the team alongside New York City FC's Frank Lampard despite them just joining their teams this month, but now neither of the former England stars will be able to play.

Houston Dynamo rout LA Galaxy as Toronto FC rallies from three down

First half goals from Will Bruin and Brad Davis paved the way for the Houston Dynamo in their 3-0 win over the LA Galaxy.

Brad Davis had a goal and an assist in the first half, helping the Houston Dynamo beat the LA Galaxy 3-0 on Saturday night.

The Dynamo took control in the ninth minute when Will Bruin settled Davis' diagonal cross and smashed home a left-footer. Davis then added a long-range strike from behind the top of the circle in the 27th minute.

Leonel Miranda capped the scoring in the 88th minute, juking two Galaxy defenders and finishing with a chip shot.

Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco and Marco Delgado combined once again to defeat the Philadelphia Union 2-1 in Toronto.

Sebastian Giovinco continued his spectacular MLS debut season by scoring a goal and adding an assist to help Toronto FC beat the Philadelphia Union 2-1 on Saturday.

The game turned in a three-minute sequence in the first half when Giovinco played provider for Marky Delgado in the 29th minute and scored himself in the 32nd.
