Morelia sets the benchmark in attack, Necaxa still looking for first win

MEXICO CITY -- After a weekend that included the beginning of Mexico's under-23 Olympics participation in Rio de Janeiro, Liga MX entered its fourth week of matches, with last season's second-place, Monterrey, still searching for its first win of the 2016 Apertura.

By the end of the weekend, Monterrey achieved its first win of the season, and teams such as Tijuana and America got their third wins of the season after superb away performances in Mexico City and Veracruz, respectively.

Vancouver Whitecaps send Fabian Espindola to Necaxa

Fifteen-year-old Alphonso Davies made his MLS debut as Vancouver squandered a 2-1 halftime lead at home against Orlando City.

The Vancouver Whitecaps have sent striker Fabian Espindola to Liga MX side Necaxa on Wednesday, just one week after acquiring him for general allocation money from D.C. United in a trade that sent Patrick Mullins to United from New York City FC.

Espindola is seventh among active MLS goalscorers with 64 regular-season goals over 10 seasons in the league. He has 73 goals and 42 assists in 252 appearances in all competitions.
