Guillermo Ochoa: Not my fault Napoli move fell through

Napoli missed chance after chance against Fiorentina, but a late goal from Lorenzo Insigne secured three points for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Mexico international Guillermo Ochoa insists his botched move to Napoli fell through over problems elsewhere, rather than his own qualities.

Standard Liege goalkeeper Ochoa, who impressed for Mexico at the World Cup, had been linked with a move to Napoli when their new signing Alex Meret broke an arm shortly after joining the club this summer. New seats were due to be installed over the summer to bring the stadium in compliance with UEFA regulations, but work has yet to commence as an argument over who will pay for the work continues.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said he learned he was no longer Napoli's coach when he saw Carlo Ancelotti arriving in Rome on the television.

Sarri, 59, guided Napoli to second in Serie A last season and still had a year left on his contract, but it contained a clause that meant either he or the club could terminate the deal by May 31.

While he said he was undecided about his future, he knew the decision had been made when he saw Ancelotti arriving.

"I was out for dinner with [Giuseppe] Pompilio,...
