Dries Mertens joined Napoli from PSV Eindhoven in 2013.

Dries Mertens has signed a new contract with Napoli until 2020, the club have announced.

Mertens, 30, has been Napoli's star player this season with 27 goals and nine assists in 34 Serie A appearances.

The Belgium international's form has led to speculation about a move away with Inter Milan and Manchester United reportedly interested.

Sampdoria to keep Patrik Schick despite Napoli, AC Milan approaches

Sampdoria forward Patrik Schick has scored 11 goals in his debut Serie A season.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferraro says Napoli and AC Milan have made approaches for Patrik Schick but insists the Czech Republic forward will stay at the club.

Schick, who has a contract through to 2020, has also been linked with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund but Ferraro said he has no intention of cashing in this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani: I could return to Napoli one day

Edinson Cavani has said he could return to his former club Napoli later in his career because of the "special" times he enjoyed there.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Cavani played for the Serie A club from 2010 until 2013 and said both the supporters and his teammates made him feel "legendary" during a prolific spell.
