Real Madrid set to present Rafa Benitez on Wednesday

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez announces his exit from the club after their last game against Lazio.

Real Madrid will present Rafa Benitez as their new manager on Wednesday.

The presentation is set for 1 p.m. local time.

The former Napoli manager has spent the past two days working at Valdebebas training center and met with Real Madrid's general director Jose Angel Sanchez as well as the director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno, according to Spanish media.

The 55-year-old arrived in the Spanish capital on Monday afternoon ahead of finalising his contract.

Rafa Benitez 'can't wait' to finalise Real Madrid contract

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez announces his exit from the club after their last game against Lazio.

Rafa Benitez arrived in the Spanish capital on Monday afternoon ahead of signing his contract as the new head coach of La Liga giants Real Madrid.

On Sunday, Real vice-president Eduardo Fernandez de Blas dropped the clearest indication yet that Benitez will be confirmed as the club's new boss in the coming days.

Benitez oversaw his final match in charge of Napoli as they lost 4-2 against Lazio at the weekend to finish fifth in the Serie A table.
