Alejandro Bedoya considers leaving Nantes to play at a 'higher level'

U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann discusses the 'drive and hunger' his side will need in order to succeed at the Copa America Centenario.

Alejandro Bedoya has enjoyed his time playing for Ligue 1 club Nantes, but the United States national team midfielder said he has his sights set on possibly taking his game to a "higher level."

Bedoya, 29, has been with Nantes since 2013, making 77 appearances and scoring 10 goals during his time there. He's also made 45 appearances for the U.S. national team and was recently called out for his recent run of good form by manager Jurgen Klinsmann at the team's camp in Miami ahead of the Copa America.

Rene Girard appointed new Nantes boss to replace Michel Der Zakarian

Rene Girard led Montpellier to the Ligue 1 title in 2012.

Nantes have hired former Montpellier and Lille boss Rene Girard to be their new manager for next season, the club have announced.

Girard, 62, will replace Michel Der Zakarian, who announced last month that he would not be signing a new contract with a club he guided back to Ligue 1 in 2013.

Girard, who has been out of work since leaving Lille a year ago, has signed a two-year contract with the eight-time French champions.
