A debut goal from Wes Fletcher ensured Motherwell claimed a 1-0 win over Inverness in the Highland capital on the opening weekend of the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership season.

The only goal came in the fourth minute of the game, while Scott McDonald also had a penalty saved for the visitors, as a below-par Caley Thistle side failed to break down their stubborn counterparts.

Bilel Mohsni ban extended to 7 matches for Motherwell-Rangers brawl

Bilel Mohsni made 17 appearances for Rangers in all competitions.

Former Rangers defender Bilel Mohsni has received an additional three-game ban following his actions against Motherwell -- taking his total suspension to seven matches.

The Tunisia international was given a four-game punishment after he was red carded for punching and kicking Well striker Lee Erwin in the seconds after Gers' humiliating 6-1 aggregate playoff final defeat.

But now Scottish Football Association disciplinary bosses have increased his ban after finding him guilty of two further offences...

Police continue investigations into Motherwell-Rangers brawl

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol reacts to Ranger's 6-1 aggregate loss to Motherwell in Scotland's second division.

Police in Scotland will meet officials from the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and the Scottish FA as investigations continue into the brawl that followed Sunday's playoff final second leg between Motherwell and Rangers.

Three players were shown red cards after the match, which saw Rangers lose 3-0 and 6-1 on aggregate, failing to gain promotion to the top flight as Motherwell retained their Premiership status at Fir Park.

Bilel Mohsni began kicking an punching Lee Erwin during Rangers and Motherwell's second leg playoff on Sunday.

Motherwell striker Lee Erwin labelled Rangers defender Bilel Mohsni an embarrassment to the Ibrox club after their incredible Fir Park melee.
