Chile international Eduardo Vargas' second half equalizer handed Tigres a 1-1 away draw with Leon on Wednesday in the first leg of the Liga MX 2017 Apertura quarterfinal.

The result gives second seed Tigres a slight advantage heading into Saturday's second leg in Estadio Universitario, with the away goals rule in place for the Liga MX playoffs.

Vargas received the ball from Jesus Duenas on the edge of the penalty area in the 76th minute and shot low into the right-hand corner of the goal.

The Liga MX playoffs are now set!

With an eye on the 2017 Apertura title, eight teams are now left in the championship race: Monterrey, Tigres, Morelia, Toluca, Club America, Cruz Azul, Leon and Atlas. The first legs of the quarterfinal round take place this Wednesday and Thursday, so all eight clubs have little time to prepare for the much-anticipated knockout stage.

Although there's rarely a lack of drama or entertainment, here are five things you won't want to miss.

Argentine import Gustavo Bou and Tijuana have suddenly found their form and risen all the way to third in the table.

The week that just concluded in Liga MX felt like the week of the visitor because there were several impressive away results obtained by several clubs. Chivas, Morelia, Leon and Tijuana's away wins were the main highlights of Week 8. Chivas, the league's defending champions, finally got their first win of the season and are ready to compete for a Liguilla place in the upcoming weeks.
