Lucas Barrios has revealed he offered his services to former boss Jurgen Klopp in December in a bid top to boost Borussia Dortmund's flagging Bundesliga season.

After arriving in Europe to join Dortmund in 2009, Barrios, 30, played an integral role in two Bundesliga title wins with the Ruhr Valley club, helping re-establish them as a force to rival Bayern Munich.

The Paraguay international then departed for China in 2012 before joining Spartak Moscow, and then moved to French side Montpellier on...

Nice have now gone five matches since winning three in a row after the winter break and lie in 13th place in Ligue 1.

The win put Montpellier on 42 points, one adrift of fourth-placed Monaco, while Guingamp remained in eighth.

Despite their impressive Europa League comeback win over Ukraine giants Dynamo Kiev in midweek, the hosts fell a goal behind...

Lille claimed an overdue Ligue 1 victory by ending Montpellier's four-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 triumph at the Stade de la Mosson.

Les Dogues had not won any of their last four games in all competitions, with their poor form in the autumn restricting Rene Girard's team to a place in the bottom half of the table.

However, goals from Nolan Roux and Marcos Lopes in either half boosted Lille into 10th place, while Bryan Dabo's stoppage-time strike arrived too late to help Montpellier alter the destination...
