Man United meet Southampton in EFL final, Leicester need win vs. Liverpool

Alexis Nunes and Paul Mariner predict the Premier League fixtures in week 26.
The Boys from Exploding Heads are here to assure you that the League Cup final is definitely not pointless.

Could the unthinkable happen? Could Leicester really go down? It's a huge game for the Foxes on Monday night as Liverpool come to the King Power and now they don't have a manager! The hosts are in real trouble, without a goal or a Premier League point so far in 2017 they sacked Claudio Ranieri and need to start firing on the pitch.

Elsewhere, the first silverware of the season is up for grabs in the EFL Cup final between Manchester United and Southampton.

Have your say on that and all the rest of...

Win the title then relegation? Leicester's nightmare prospect

Gab Marcotti, Alejandro Moreno and Steve Nicol share their differing points of view on Claudio Ranieri's sacking.

Leicester's miracle title triumph last season captivated the world, but 2016-17 is turning into a disaster for the champions.

Claudio Ranieri has been sacked as his team have yet to score in 2017 and are just one point off the bottom three. Relegation is a real possibility but put yourselves in their shoes -- would you take going down if you had won the title previously?

Boro can force the issue with rare win at Crystal Palace to surge over the line

Aitor Karanka calls on Middlesbrough to retain their momentum after surviving a scare against Oxford United.

While it may not spell survival or relegation for either side when the final whistle blows at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon, we could be a lot closer to having a convincing case for the Premier League futures of either Middlesbrough or Crystal Palace.

Boro's paltry single away win this season leaves little in the way of expectation, but there is real hope that a vital victory could fire the side into a pocket of breathing space above the league's basement boys.

In Crystal Palace, a team that...

Stewart Downing runs the show as Boro eke past Oxford United in FA Cup

Stewart Downing
Stewart Downing ran the show for Middlesbrough in their FA Cup fifth-round win over Oxford United.

Middlesbrough's blushes were spared by a late Cristhian Stuani goal to settle a five-goal thriller at the Riverside. Spirited Oxford United bounced back with a double salvo after looking dead and buried at the break as the balance of the match was turned upside down. Boro recovered their composure and, with the introduction of Alvaro Negredo and Gaston Ramirez, were able to turn the tie back in their favour and struck late as Stuani slotted home the goal to win 3-2 and send them to the quarterfinal...

Middlesbrough and Victor Valdes stand firm to deny in-form Everton

Victor Valdes expresses his joy at helping Middlesbrough earn a result with his sixth clean sheet this season.
Aitor Karanka stresses the importance of Victor Valdes to the club, and his recent outstanding form in the net.

Middlesbrough displayed great resilience in defence to register a clean sheet in their 0-0 draw with in-form Everton and perhaps felt they could have grabbed a vital victory.

In what was their 11th goalless game of the season, Boro showed healthy attacking intent through their play and substitutions but could not find a way to beat Joel Robles. The performance had a better balance between attack and defence and left the Teessiders' fans with cause for optimism in their relegation battle.

Following a vote of confidence from Leicester's board, the FC crew discuss what's plaguing Claudio Ranieri and his players.
Shaka Hislop breaks down the odds of the leading candidates to get the sack as manager in the Premier League.

Liverpool still haven't won a league game in 2017. They host rivals Tottenham on Saturday evening with both sides still hoping for a slip-up from Chelsea in their pursuit of the title.

Elsewhere, there's a monster of a game at the Liberty, with Leicester facing Swansea as their relegation battle takes another twist. The champions are in danger of going down, just one point off the bottom three ahead of the weekend, and could even start the game in the relegation zone if results go against...
