Melbourne Victory have prevailed 2-0 over Perth Glory to record their first victory of the A League season.

Besart Berisha came back to haunt Perth Glory yet again as Melbourne Victory notched their first win of the season with a 2-0 triumph in Sunday's clash at nib Stadium.

Victory entered the match in the unthinkable position of last on the table after managing just four draws and two losses from the opening six A-League rounds.

A late equaliser from Brisbane Roar substitute Brett Holman has doomed Melbourne Victory to a 1-1 draw to extend their winless start to the A-League season.

Kevin Muscat's men looked to have done enough on Saturday night when Besart Berisha scored in his return from suspension in the 79th minute at Etihad Stadium.

But the Roar drew level minutes later when Holman managed to get on the end of a Jack Hingert cross and nailed a straightforward finish.

The result leaves last year's grand finalists stranded...

Fahid Ben Khalfallah insists he has no grudge against Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat as the veteran winger prepares to face his former A-League side for the first time.

Discarded by Muscat at the end of last season, the 35-year-old says he has no point to prove to his former coach, teammates or supporters when he makes his return to Etihad Stadium wearing Brisbane Roar colours on Saturday night.

Ben Khalfallah had a somewhat acrimonious exit from Victory.

The Tunisian was frozen out of first-team...

Ten-man Melbourne Victory salvaged a 1-1 draw with Western Sydney in a pulsating A-League clash in front of 21,577 fans at Etihad Stadium.

Victory played almost an hour a man down after Mitch Austin was sent off, but Thomas Deng equalised early in the second half after Oriol Riera opened the scoring for the visitors just before the break.

The Wanderers were left to rue squandered opportunities, with the most glaring a missed penalty by Riera just before half-time.

Austin received a yellow card...
