Former Argentina under-20 star Matias Sanchez joins Melbourne Victory

Matias Sanchez & Carlos Tevez
Matias Sanchez made 28 appearances for Temperley in the Argentine Primera Division last season.

Melbourne Victory have further bolstered a title-contending A-League squad by signing former Argentina under-20 international Matias Sanchez.

The 29-year-old leaves his native Argentina for Melbourne in a move he is calling a "football adventure."

Sanchez arrives with a serious pedigree, even if his greatest achievements came a decade ago.

He won the Copa Libertadores -- South America's version of the Champions League -- in 2009 with Estudiantes.

Former captain Mark Milligan seals return to Melbourne Victory

Mark Milligan, right, made 73 appearances during his first stint at Melbourne Victory, scoring 14 goals.

Melbourne Victory have swooped to re-sign their A-League winning captain Mark Milligan after the Socceroo missed out on a dream move to England.

Milligan, 31, has returned to AAMI Park on a one-year marquee deal.

The Socceroo utility was honest enough to admit returning to the A-League wasn't his first choice.

And Victory coach Kevin Muscat was mature enough to understand Milligan's ambitions.

After leaving Victory as Joe Marston Medallist in their 2015 winning Grand Final, Milligan spent two years...

James Troisi insists: 'Melbourne Victory would always be my first choice'

James Troisi celebrates scoring for Melbourne Victory.
James Troisi has finally sorted out his future, penning a new two-year deal with Melbourne Victory.

Socceroos midfielder James Troisi insists Melbourne Victory was always his preferred home after signing on with the A-League runner-ups.

The 29-year-old had been strongly linked with a move to crosstown rivals Melbourne City, with reports suggesting he underwent a medical with City on Monday.

But the Victory on Thursday confirmed Troisi would be part of the club's title push after signing a new two-year deal.

Melbourne Victory star Marco Rojas set for Heerenveen medical

Marco Rojas
Marco Rojas will have a medical at Eredivisie club Heerenveen this week.

Melbourne Victory are resigned to losing a fifth member of their A-League grand final team, with Marco Rojas bound for Europe.

The New Zealand winger is heading to the Netherlands for a medical with Heerenveen.

A deal is yet to be concluded but the Dutch Eredivisie club's interest is serious, and the Kiwi is expected to sign in the coming days.

The move will be Rojas' second attempt to crack a major European league after a failed stint with German club Stuttgart followed his first spell with Victory.
