SA's Maritzburg United appoint Eric Tinkler in place of Muhsin Ertugral

South African Premiership club Maritzburg United have announced the appointment of former Bafana Bafana star Eric Tinkler as their new manager, filling the spot vacated by Muhsin Ertugral.

Tinkler, who was sacked from Chippa United in December, will be tasked with turning the Team of Choice's fortunes around after they lost five in a row under Ertugral, who lasted just one month in the role.

Maritzburg, who have score just six goals this season and are bottom of the standings, announced the appointment...

Blunt Kaizer Chiefs held by 10-man Maritzburg United

Kaizer Chiefs' disappointing start to the new Absa Premiership season continued on Friday night when they were held to a 0-0 draw by 10-man Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Maritzburg had lost their opening three games of the season and played for 75 minutes a man short in this match, but still a blunt Chiefs attack could find no way through to pile more pressure on new coach Giovanni Solinas.

The point will no doubt feel like a loss for Chiefs, who remain winless after four matches...

Who are the club legends with the most starts at each PSL club?

Ronwen Williams recently broke SuperSport United's record for the most starts by a player, and amazing achievement considering he is only still 26 years of age.

The goalkeeper is one of a handful of active players who holds the record for club appearances, with the majority being names from the previous century.

Here KweséESPN looks at who holds the same record at all 16 PSL clubs for top-flight, cup and CAF club competition matches.

Maritzburg United add experienced Nazeer Allie to defensive ranks

Premier Soccer League surprise package from last season Maritzburg United have signed experienced defender Nazeer Allie from Bidvest Wits, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The twice-capped Bafana Bafana international can play at either right-back or centre-back and provides some leadership at the back after the loss of last season's skipper Bevan Fransman to Highlands Park.

The 33-year-old did not have his contract renewed at former club Wits, but has penned a two-year deal with Maritzburg, who are...

Maritzburg sign Masegela from French side Ajaccio

South African Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United have announced the signing of two new players, including former junior international Tholang Masegela from French Ligue 1 side Ajaccio.

Midfielder Masegela has signed a five-year deal along with teenager Sizwe Muthwa, who was previously with rivals Maritzburg City - who play in South Africa's third tier.

Masegela is a South African Under-20 international who was a product of the Diambars Football Academy that was co-founded by France World...
