Kaizer Chiefs confirm Leonardo Castro capture from Mamelodi Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs have concluded the signing of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Leonardo Castro, the PSL giants confirmed on Saturday.

The move has long been anticipated, with the Colombian forward lacking game time at Sundowns as the goals dried up.

"Chiefs and Sundowns have finalised the agreement and Castro will join Chiefs in January," the AmaKhosi tweeted on their @KaizerChiefs handle.

He joins Venezuelan forward Gustavo Paez and former Bafana Bafana striker Bernard Parker as striking options at the...

Mamelodi Sundowns extend PSL lead after Maritzburg United win

Mamelodi Sundowns moved five points clear at the top of the PSL with a 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United as one of their major rivals stumbled in their title bid.

It is increasingly looking like Sundowns' title to lose as their handsome lead comes with them also having played three games fewer than second-placed Orlando Pirates.

With SuperSport United losing 1-0 at Free State Stars, Sundowns are now 10 points ahead of their Tshwane rivals, although the former have three games in hand.

Mamelodi Sundowns tighten grip at the top with Golden Arrows win

Mamelodi Sundowns tightened their grip on top spot in the PSL with a 1-0 success away at Lamontville Golden Arrows on Sunday.

An early goal from Ivorian defender Bangaly Soumahoro sealed the victory for Sundowns, and they now hold a two-point lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates, but with three games in hand.

Four clubs are a further point back, but all have played more games than The Brazilians, including Kaizer Chiefs, who have also featured in three more.

Sundowns are now hitting ominous form...

Pitso Mosimane: A man for all seasons at five-year mark

Pitso Mosimane completed something of a rare feat in South African football when he passed the five-year mark in charge of Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend.

In a league where the turnover of coaches is particularly high, Mosimane has found longevity, not just in his current position, but also at SuperSport United where he campaigned before.

That is not to say he has not had some uncomfortable moments as impatient Sundowns fans protested against him in the early days of his reign, but having delivered...

Percy Tau roars as Mamelodi Sundowns move atop PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns moved to the top of the Absa Premiership table with a 4-0 victory over Baroka FC in Atteridgeville on Tuesday night.

Sundowns were handsome winners, but the margin could have been even greater as they wasted numerous opportunities in what was arguably their best display of the season so far.

It is an ominous sign for their title rivals, as they cut Baroka to pieces at times, exposing gaping holes in the defence with slick passing and intelligent movement.

They took an early lead...
