A brilliant stoppage-time free-kick from Duda earned Malaga a 2-2 draw at Espanyol as they twice came from behind to snatch a point.

Duda curled a beautiful effort into the top corner from 25 yards, a matter of minutes after Christian Stuani's header looked to have won it for the hosts.

The late strike denied Espanyol a first La Liga win of the season and left them second bottom of the standings.

Earlier Felipe Caicedo had opened the scoring for Espanyol, with Ignacio Camacho levelling shortly after...

Struggling Levante frustrated Malaga in a goalless draw at La Rosaleda.

Levante came into the match having lost both of their opening games against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao respectively, conceding a total of five goals, leaving coach Jose Luis Mendilibar under pressure.

Valencia manager Nuno Espirito Santo celebrates the second of his team's three goals in their 3-0 win over Malaga. It was Santo's first home game since taking over as manager at La Liga side.

The visitors had made a promising start to the game and caused problems for Valencia early on but the game changed completely when Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder was sent off.

Paco Alcacer opened the scoring moments later to ensure Valencia took full advantage and then Dani Parejo extended the gap just before half-time.

Pablo Piatti then...

Liverpool loanee Luis Alberto scored the decisive goal on his debut for Malaga as the Andalusian side got their season off to a winning start with a 1-0 success over Athletic Bilbao in a gripping game at La Rosaleda.

Tensions boiled over in the closing stages and two Malaga players - Duda and Vitorino Antunes - were given straight red cards for serious foul play.

There was yet further drama as Athletic goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz appeared to head in an equaliser in injury time - only for it to be ruled...
