Alexander Samedov has returned to his boyhood club, Lokomotiv Moscow.

Russian league leader Spartak Moscow have signed midfielder Alexander Samedov from Lokomotiv Moscow.

The 32-year-old Samedov started his career with Spartak and played for them until 2005. He says he feels "huge nerves but at the same time happiness to return to my first club after 12 years."

Samedov rejoins a team who are five points clear of Zenit St. Petersburg at the top of the standings. Under Italian coach Massimo Carrera, Spartak are chasing their first title since 2001.

Marseille's Lassana Diarra: Lokomotiv Moscow fine will 'shape my future'

Lassana Diarra
Lassana Diarra played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth in the Premier League.

Lassana Diarra has told RMC the €10 million fine he has been ordered to pay Lokomotiv Moscow will "shape my future."

Diarra, 31, saw his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected in May, meaning a FIFA ruling was upheld that he was in breach of contract when he left Lokomotiv in 2014 after just a year of his four-year deal.

That decision also meant a 15-month playing ban, a suspension of his wages and the massive fine, which the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder says is something...

Lassana Diarra
Lassana Diarra wrote that he would 'accept the situation, as I have always done in the past.'

France international Lassana Diarra has been ordered to pay his former club Lokomotiv Moscow £6.8 million for breaching his contract.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) handed down the punishment after hearing the case of the 31-year-old, who quit the Russian side in 2014 after a year following a salary cut.

Diarra, who has already served a 15-month ban and salary suspension for the offence, signed for Marseille last summer and is in the France squad for Euro 2016.

UEFA fine Lokomoiv Moscow's Dimitry Tarasov for Vladimir Putin T-shirt

Dmitry Tarasov revealed the t-shirt following a 2-0 loss to Fenerbahce in Istanbul last month.

UEFA has fined Russian midfielder Dmitry Tarasov 5,000 euros for wearing a T-shirt bearing Russian President Vladimir Putin's face at a Europa League game.

The Lokomotiv Moscow player took off his team shirt to reveal the image while on the field following a 2-0 loss to Turkish club Fenerbahce last month in Istanbul.

Beneath the image of Putin wearing a Russian Navy cap were the words in Russian: "The most polite president."

UEFA said the shirt broke rules on displaying political slogans or advertising...

Russia add Brazil goalkeeper Guilherme to friendlies squad

Guilherme has played in Russia for the past eight years.

MOSCOW -- Brazil-born goalkeeper Guilherme has been called up to the Russia's national team.

Guilherme has played in Russia since 2007 with Lokomotiv Moscow and could become Russia's No. 2 keeper behind CSKA Moscow's Igor Akinfeev if he impresses in friendlies against Lithuania and France this month.

Besides Guilherme, Russia are also considering naturalising German-Ukrainian defensive midfielder Roman Neustaedter of Schalke and Brazilian right-back Mario Fernandes of CSKA.
