Doctors found guilty of manslaughter over death of Piermario Morosini

Piermario Morosini died in 2012 after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Livorno.

The three doctors who treated Piermario Morosini, who died after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Livorno in 2012, have been given suspended prison sentences of up to a year after being found guilty of manslaughter.

Morosini, who was 25, collapsed half an hour into a match at Pescara and died in hospital an hour and a half later.

Laura D'Arcangelo, a judge at a tribunal in Pescara, sentenced emergency doctor Vito Molfese to one year in prison.

Livorno forward Andrea Favilli is happy to be linked with Real Madrid, his agent has revealed.

Favilli, 19, spent the 2015-16 season on loan from Livorno at Juventus, and reports in Italy have claimed that Juve have not taken up a €1.7 million option for a permanent deal, and the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit are poised to step in.

Bortolo Mutti says he was surprised to be asked to take over at Italian Serie B club Livorno after Christian Panucci was dismissed on Wednesday.

Panucci paid the price for his side's poor recent form, which culminated in a 1-0 defeat to Bari at the weekend.

He will be replaced by Mutti, who has been out of work for almost two years, since being fired by Padova in February 2014.

Christian Panucci has been given his first head coach role by Serie B club Livorno.

Since hanging up his boots in 2010, Panucci, who played for the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan, had been working as sporting director at Palermo -- resigning after just one month -- and as assistant to Russia boss Fabio Capello.

Juventus win appeal over Chelsea compensation for Adrian Mutu

Adrian Mutu scored 10 goals in 33 appearances for Juventus.
Adrian Mutu signed for Juventus in 2005 after he was released by Chelsea.

Juventus have claimed they will not have to pay Chelsea compensation in the Adrian Mutu case after having an appeal upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Governing body FIFA ruled in 2013 that Juventus and Livorno had to contribute some of the 14 million pounds owed by Mutu to Chelsea for a breach of contract.

The London club released Mutu in 2004 following the Romanian striker's positive drug test and sought compensation, which they were granted by FIFA in 2013.
