Medeama stay top in Ghana Premier League

Medeama have gone two points clear at the top of the Ghana Premier League after beating Wa All Stars to confine the former champions to the bottom of the standings.

Kwame Boateng scored twice from the penalty spot, while another brace from Kwesi Donsu helped the Tarkwa side to a 4-1 win at the TNA Park. The result makes it seven wins out of seven at home in the league this season.

While Medeama are flying high, Wa All Stars are struggling, having not won in eight matches and remaining bottom of...

Giants continue slide as Akunnor makes his mark

Five games into the Ghana Premier League and it seems clear that traditional giants Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be up against it this season too.

The two clubs with the most League titles have taken a backseat recently as the likes of Aduana Stars dominate the league, and again both suffered significant setbacks on Sunday.

CK Akunnor making his point in style
Former Ghana captain CK Akunnor has had his difficulties as a coach in spells at Eleven Wise and Hearts of Oak, but...

Ghana Premier League talking points

The Ghana Premier League finaly shook off its goal-shy tag this weekend with a blitz aided largely by Aduana Stars and new boys Karela.

However, the weekend also highlighted Asante Kotoko's goalscoring deficiency and a widening problem with attendance in the League.

Aduana spark to life
The Dormaa club are everyone's favourites to successfully defend their title, and they provided evidence of that with a stunning 6-0 thumping of Inter Allies on Sunday. It was the biggest win in the Ghana Premier...

Key talking points from Ghana Premier League Week 2

It was a weekend for teams on the road in the Ghana Premier League with two away wins, four draws and only two defeats across the eight matches.

Those games also provided early indicators of a few things -- WAFA may have a great season again, Kotoko's goalscoring problems are far from over, and for all the bad press, this is still a league with significant interest.

- There is no panic yet, but Accra Hearts of Oak's start to the season will lead to a few questions in Adabraka. They have leaked...

Aduana Stars claim Ghana League title

Aduana Stars have won the Ghana Premier League with a game to spare after a 2-1 victory over Elmina Sharks in Dormaa.

Sam Adams scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot late in the game after Rashid Alhassan had cancelled out Benjamin Tweneboah's opener for the visitors.

The result in Dormaa -- along with WAFA's -21 loss in Cape Coast against Ebuasua Dwarfs -- gives Stars a seven-point advantage going into the final round of matches.

It earns them their second League title in eight years after...
