Francesco Becchetti sells Leyton Orient to Dunkin' Donuts CEO's group

Leyton Orient fans protested the club's recent misfortunes.

Francesco Becchetti has sold Leyton Orient to a business consortium headed by Nigel Travis, a lifelong fan and chief executive of the Dunkin' Brands Group.

The O's, who have been in free-fall ever since Italian Becchetti bought the east London club from Barry Hearn in 2014, saw their 112-year stay in the Football League come to an end when finishing bottom of League Two last season.

Agreement reached for Leyton Orient fans to attend Blackpool match

Leyton Orient fans took the field for a sit-down protest during their team's home match with Colchester on Saturday.

Leyton Orient fans will have an allocation of 1,000 tickets for Saturday's League Two clash at Blackpool after an agreement was reached between both clubs and the English Football League.

Ticket sales had been temporarily suspended on Monday following a number of concerns raised by the Seasiders.

Leyton Orient fans forced Saturday's game with Colchester to be halted, with play resumed nearly two hours later.

The English Football League has supported a request from League Two side Blackpool to suspend ticket sales to Leyton Orient fans for Saturday's final game of the season at Bloomfield Road.

Leyton Orient fans invaded the pitch to protest against owner Francesco Becchetti.

Colchester beat relegated Leyton Orient 3-1 in bizarre circumstances, with the last five minutes of the League Two game played in front of an empty stadium after an earlier announcement that the game had been abandoned.
