Dani Alves and Lionel Messi celebrate during Barcelona's 5-0 win over Levante.

Barcelona's perfect start to the new Primera Division season continued with a processional 5-0 victory over bottom side Levante at Ciutat de Valencia.

Luis Enrique's early leaders made it four wins from four and kept a fourth straight clean sheet as goals from Neymar, Ivan Rakitic, Sandro, Pedro and Lionel Messi demonstrated the wide gulf in class between the two sides.

There were, however, two moments of concern for the Catalan giants, with Messi missing a penalty after Loukas Vyntra was dismissed...

Struggling Levante frustrated Malaga in a goalless draw at La Rosaleda.

Levante came into the match having lost both of their opening games against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao respectively, conceding a total of five goals, leaving coach Jose Luis Mendilibar under pressure.

Aritz Aduriz got the opener 32 minutes in and Ander Iturraspe erased the prospect of any late nerves with a second after the break.

It was party time after that and Iker Muniain added a third 13 minutes from the end.

Levante failed to really...

Ikechukwu Uche and Denis Cheryshev were on-target as Villarreal began their Primera Division campaign with an impressive 2-0 win at Levante.

Cheryshev, who is on loan with the Yellow Submarine for the season from Real Madrid, struck five minutes from time to give the visitors an ideal start to their campaign.

Nigerian international Ikechukwu Uche had earlier broken the deadlock in the 55th minute in a match that had had precious few chances up until that point.

Marcelino Garcia Toral's men had made...
