West Ham to face FC Astra in Europa League third qualifying round

West Ham will face FC Astra Giurgiu or Romania in the Europa League third qualifying round after surviving penalties in Malta on Thursday.

The Premier League side played with 10 men for over an hour against Birkirkara after James Tomkins was sent off, and will resume their campaign at home next Thursday.

Europa League draw: Southampton handed Vitesse Arnhem test

Southampton will face Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem in the third qualifying round of the Europa League, while West Ham were handed a potential tie against Scottish Premiership side Inverness Caledonian Thistle should they both progress.

Saints finished seventh in the Premier League last season and so were among the sides for Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

UEFA hurting Eastern European clubs with FFP - Krasnodar owner

MOSCOW -- The billionaire owner of Russian club Krasnodar has accused UEFA of stifling the growth of football in Eastern Europe with financial fair play (FFP) restrictions.

Supermarket tycoon Sergei Galitsky's money has turned Krasnodar, who he founded in 2008, into a team challenging for a place in next season's Champions League.

Inter Milan, Monaco among 10 clubs to reach UEFA FFP deals

Roma were among 10 clubs to reach an FFP deal with UEFA.

Inter Milan and Roma are among several clubs who have agreed to pay fines and have their European squad sizes limited for upcoming seasons after breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
