Kenny Miller knows former Rangers team-mate Lee McCulloch will have been prepared by his coaching spell at Kilmarnock as he gets set for a high-profile management debut.

McCulloch has been thrust into the hot seat for the William Hill Scottish Cup clash at Ibrox following the departure of Gary Locke.

The 37-year-old has leadership experience through captaining Rangers through some difficult years off the park, but Miller believes the recent months at Rugby Park will be invaluable.

Miller said: ''The...

Carlton Morris' second-half goal gave Hamilton a narrow 1-0 win over Ladbrokes Premiership relegation rivals Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and piled the pressure on Killie boss Gary Locke.

On a cold and blustery day in Ayrshire, the poor shooting, inability to keep possession for any length of time and lack of guile which pockmarked the first-half demonstrated why both clubs are struggling at the wrong end of the table.

It livened up a little in the second-half and after home striker Kris Boyd hit the woodwork...

Dundee United breathed fresh life into their relegation fight after recording only their third win of the season by thrashing Kilmarnock 5-1 at Tannadice.

Mixu Paatelainen's men knew it was win or bust for their hopes of remaining in the Ladbrokes Premiership as they took on their nearest challengers.

But they managed to rediscover the hunger that has been absent all season as they blew Killie away.

The impressive Blair Spittal netted twice while also teeing-up substitute Mark Durnan and John Rankin...

A thunderous volley from Craig Slater gave Kilmarnock all three points against Inverness at a snow-covered Rugby Park.

Greg Kiltie opened the scoring for Killie but Ross Draper, netting his first goal since March 2014 and Caley Thistle's 1,500th competitive goal, levelled before the break.

Slater made his mark six minutes into the second half with a wonder-strike and despite Inverness huffing and puffing, the points remained in east Ayrshire.

The win puts Killie 14 points clear of bottom club Dundee...

A well-executed Craig Slater free-kick saw Kilmarnock reach the last 16 of the Scottish Cup with a 1-0 win at the expense of a St Johnstone side which has now failed to net in their last four matches.

The McDiarmid pitch passed a morning inspection by match official Kevin Clancy, six days after the league fixture with Aberdeen fell victim to the deluge sweeping the east of Scotland.

And the ball had barely been touched when a revitalised Killie side snatched the lead they rarely looked like giving...
