St Mirren claimed their first goal of the season but it was not enough to earn their first point as Kilmarnock snatched a 2-1 win in the Scottish Premiership match at Rugby Park.

The home side opened the scoring through substitute Robbie Muirhead, before his opener was cancelled out by on-loan Manchester City midfielder Adam Drury.

However, Mark Connolly ensured struggling Saints' dismal start to the season continued when he grabbed the decisive goal - with the Paisley side still waiting to put points...

Aaron Doran and Greg Tansey combined to keep Inverness at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

A largely dour game sparked to life with Doran's breakaway goal and a thunderbolt of a strike from Tansey, which went in via a combination of the post and goalkeeper Craig Samson, to keep Inverness unbeaten.

Inverness made one enforced change to the team that triumphed 1-0 over Celtic last Saturday. Gary Warren dropped out through injury and Doran took his place. Manager John...

Rory McKenzie grabbed the only goal of the game as Kilmarnock booked their place in the third round of the League Cup with a narrow victory over local rivals Ayr United.

The top-flight side had the best of the chances and scraped through in the end thanks to a second half strike from McKenzie.

As well as progressing in the competition, the win allowed Killie to claim the bragging rights in this derby clash.

Kilmarnock named an unchanged side from the one who defeated Motherwell on Saturday.

Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston was thrilled to notch their first home win of the season on their new artificial surface with a victory over Motherwell.

The Ayrshire side suffered defeat at the hands of Aberdeen in their first match at Rugby Park this term but looked convincing against the Steelmen.

Goals from Robbie Muirhead and Sammy Clingan sealed the points against 10-man Well, who had Fraser Kerr sent off late on.

Johnston said: ``You couldn't get two harder games at home - Aberdeen and then...

Kilmarnock held on for their first victory of the campaign thanks to goals from Josh Magennis and Tope Obadeyi either side of the interval.

County substitute Liam Boyce pulled one back with nine minutes left on the clock but Killie held on for all three points.

County started on the front foot and Yoann Arquin tested Killie's Craig Samson in the first minute with a rasping drive but the keeper got a finger tip to the ball.

Graham Carey was looking lively early on he left a couple of defenders for dead...
