Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta says the Serie A club are "obliged" to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League after the 2015 finalists were drawn in a group with Sevilla, Olympique Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb.

The Bianconeri got the better of the Spaniards a year ago, finishing second in their group behind Manchester City and condemning Sevilla to a place in the Europa League, which they went on to win for a third straight season.

Pep Guardiola will return to the Camp Nou after Manchester City and Barcelona were drawn together in the Champions League group stage on Thursday.

Guardiola spent the majority of his playing career with Barcelona and led them to two European titles as manager in 2009 and 2011.

And now in his first season as City boss, he will face off against his former club in Group C, along with Borussia Monchengladbach and Celtic, when the group stage begins next month.

France head coach Didier Deschamps admits he and his side are disappointed with losing the Euro 2016 final against Portugal.

Juventus defender Patrice Evra has been left of the France squad ahead of the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign next month but there were recalls for Alexandre Lacazette, Nabil Fekir and Raphael Varane.

Evra, 35, was France's starting left-back during the host country's run to the Euro 2016 final this summer.

However, France coach Didier Deschamps has chosen not to use him for a friendly against Italy on Sept. 1 and Les Bleus' opening 2018 World Cup qualifier in Belarus on Sept. 6.

PSG's Blaise Matuidi closing on Juventus transfer - reports

With reports indicating that Blaise Matuidi is on his way to Juventus, are La Vecchia Signora now better without Paul Pogba?
Blaise Matuidi signed for PSG from Saint-Etienne in 2011.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to reach an agreement over the transfer of Blaise Matuidi when representatives of both clubs meet in Monaco on Friday, according to reports in Italy and France.

According to Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve's general manager Beppe Marotta will meet with the player's agent Mino Raiola and PSG's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Patrick Kluivert to agree terms, since all will be in Monaco for the Champions League group stage draw.

Simone Zaza's father says the Juventus forward is close to joining Napoli after a proposed move to Wolfsburg broke down.

Antonio Zaza, who acts as his son's agent, told Il Corriere dello Sport a switch to the Premier League was now unlikely.

"It [Napoli] is an option that we are considering very carefully," Zaza Sr said.

"We spoke with Napoli's sporting director [Cristiano] Giuntoli at length yesterday, and Napoli have serious intentions when it comes to Simone."
