Indy Eleven fans unfurled a giant "Stranger Things"-themed banner for their home opener this weekend, and it caught the attention of the actress who inspired it.

Millie Bobby Brown plays a girl named "Eleven" on the show, and fans of the Indiana club have adopted the supernatural character as an unofficial mascot.

And for their first home game since moving to the USL and into Lucas Oil Stadium, Eleven fans brought out a giant tifo in her image.

Gerardo Torrado played his last game of professional football for Indy Eleven on Sunday.

Mexican midfielder Gerardo Torrado retired from professional soccer on Sunday, playing his last match as Indy Eleven drew 2-2 against North Carolina FC in the NASL.

Torrado went the full 90 minutes in the game, with the former Cruz Azul captain now set to join the Mexican federation (FMF) as the sporting director of national teams.

"It's been a fantastic experience," said Torrado of his career ahead of the game in an interview with ESPN Mexico.

New York Cosmos fans had reason to celebrate as the club won the NASL championship for a second straight season.

The New York Cosmos claimed the NASL championship for the second straight season by beating the Indy Eleven 4-2 on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes on Sunday night.

Indy's Eamon Zayed hit the post in the second round of penalties, and goalkeeper Jon Busch then fired over the bar in the third round.

Ryan Richter, who was on the losing side the league's final last season while with the Ottawa Fury, then delivered the clinching kick to give the Cosmos their third title in four years.
