Western Sydney have confirmed the departure of A-League defender Scott Jamieson, who is poised to join Swedish giants IFK Goteborg.

Jamieson, 27, had a year left to run on his contract with the Wanderers but was able to leave because his release clause, reportedly around $200,000, was triggered.

The man who saved Denmark from an embarrassing defeat in Albania on Saturday had serious problems finding a team in the first division just over two years ago.
