A goal in each half put Hibernian's promotion push back on track as they ran out 2-0 winners at home to Alloa.

Last weekend's 1-0 loss at Falkirk was Hibs' first since September and they responded in the perfect manner.

The home side hit the ground running in their bid to get back to winning ways, with Danny Handling finding the top right-hand corner of the net from close range in the 28th minute.

Their third win in their last four was secured 17 minutes from time when Dominique Malonga struck a left-footed...

David McCracken smashed home a last-minute winner as Falkirk secured a third straight win in all competitions with a 1-0 home victory against Hibernian.

Falkirk defender McCracken thundered home a low shot from the edge of the penalty area when it seemed the points were to be shared for only his third goal for the club.

Hibs striker Paul Heffernan's early shot was blocked and Falkirk midfielder Rory Loy fired into the side-netting soon after to set the trend in a see-saw encounter.

Hibernian had to come from behind to avoid a cup upset as they sank Alloa 2-1.

The hosts went ahead after 15 minutes when Daryll Meggatt's long-range effort squirmed underneath Hibs goalkeeper Mark Oxley.

But Hibs hit back 13 minutes later through Liam Craig's powerful free-kick into the bottom corner.

And the visitors took the lead before half-time when David Gray headed in Scott Allan's cross for what proved to be the winner.

Hibs had to play the last three minutes with 10 men after Dominique Malonga...

Dominique Malonga hit a hat-trick as Hibs made it five straight away wins with an amazing 6-3 Scottish Championship triumph over Dumbarton at The Bet Butler Stadium.

Scott Allan put the visitors ahead after 23 minutes when finishing off a fine move down the left, Malonga doubled the advantage soon after following a neat lay-off by Liam Craig and Paul Hanlon made it three on the half-hour mark when slotting home a low cross from close range.

However, substitute Chris Kane pulled one back for Dumbarton...

Hibs were unable to force a win despite dominating a 0-0 draw against Queen of the South.

The home team had the better of the play throughout, with Jason Cummings and Scott Allan going close early on.

Allan had a free-kick well saved by Alex Clark but it was defender Paul Hanlon who had the best opportunity of the first period.

Matt Kerr had to be alert to clear Hanlon's header off the line following another Allan set-piece and ensure his side went into the break all-square.

Hibs continued to press in...
