Manchester City's Thomas Agyepong joins Hibernian

Ghana international Thomas Agyepong has completed a loan move from Manchester City to Hibernian, the Scottish Premier League side have confirmed.

The wideman has joined Hibs on a season-long loan deal, in his third temporary spell away from the Etihad Stadium.

The Accra-born winger spent the last two seasons on loan with Dutch side NAC Breda, and made 12 outings in the Eredivisie last term.

He moved to FC Twente in 2015, immediately after signing for City from the Right to Dream Academy.

The 21-year-old...

Bolton Wanderers, Hibernian linked with Australia international Mark Milligan

Socceroo Mark Milligan's long-held dream of playing club football in England is still alive courtesy of Australia's steady FIFA world ranking.

And the club that wanted him this time last year -- Bolton Wanderers -- have renewed their interest in the 71-cap utility, who has been a free agent since his exit from Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli earlier this month.

English Championship outfit Bolton attempted to sign Milligan last July but were thwarted at the last moment because of FA regulations, which...

Jamie Maclaren earns surprise call-up to Australia's World Cup squad

The ESPN panel in London are skeptical of Australia ahead of the World Cup with Bert van Marwijk's defensive mindset and an aging squad.
Socceroos midfielder Jackson Irvine hails "leader" Tim Cahill as the veteran has been included in the preliminary Australia World Cup 2018 squad.

Jamie Maclaren is back in World Cup contention after receiving a shock Socceroos call-up as concerns grow about the fitness of fellow striker Tomi Juric.

Maclaren was a surprise omission from Bert van Marwijk's 26-man squad earlier this month, despite strong late-season form for his Scottish club Hibernian.

But the former Brisbane Roar star has joined the Australian team in camp in Turkey and now has the chance to put his selection case forward, with usual starter Juric in doubt due to a knee injury.

Australia outcast Jamie Maclaren 'will come back a better player' - Archie Thompson

Jamie Maclaren will return to the Australian national team a better and more resilient striker because of his World Cup omission, says former Socceroo Archie Thompson.

Maclaren was one of six players to get the chop when coach Bert van Marwijk named his 26-man squad on Tuesday, with three more to be axed in early June.

The blow came despite the 24-year-old's eye-catching Scottish Premiership form, with eight goals in 15 games for Hibernian including a hat trick against Rangers on Sunday.

It leaves...

Hat-trick hero Jamie Maclaren's stoppage-time equaliser denied Rangers a famous comeback triumph in a breathless 5-5 draw at Easter Road.

Gers looked like they were set to be blown away as Florian Kamberi, Scott Allan and Maclaren put Hibs 3-0 up after a 22-minute blitz.

That left the hosts needing just three more goals to steal third place from the Ibrox men on a final day packed with drama.

But the Light Blues mounted a stunning fightback with strikes from James Tavernier, Jordan Rossiter, Bruno...
