Hibernian goalkeeper scores winner in debut

Hibernian goalkeeper Mark Oxley did the job for his new club in Saturday's opening win in the Scottish Championship.
Hibernian goalkeeper Mark Oxley did the job for his new club in Saturday's opening win in the Scottish Championship.

Having recently joined the club from Hull City at the tail end of July, goalkeeper Mark Oxley got his six-month loan stint at Hibernian off to a rollicking start in the Scottish Championship on Sunday afternoon by scoring a goal on his league debut!

Hibs beat Livingston 2-1 on the opening day of the season at Easter Road, with Oxley scoring what proved to be the winning goal with a mighty pitch-long wallop that somehow evaded the grasp of his counterpart at the other end of the pitch.

A 'keeper scoring on his debut? That must surely be a first?
