Alberto Paloschi scored the only goal of the game to hand Chievo a narrow win at Hellas Verona in Sunday's city derby.

The Italian striker headed home Ervin Zukanovic's cross nine minutes from time as Chievo won for the fourth time this season.

Chievo were by far the better side at the Marc' Antonio Bentegodi stadium against a Hellas side that failed to test Chievo goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri until the 84th minute.

The victory, Chievo's second in their last three league games, has lifted the Flying Donkeys...

Sampdoria moved up into fourth place in the Serie A standings after they claimed a comfortable 3-1 win over 10-man Hellas Verona on Monday.

Rafael Marquez was shown the red card for the hosts in the 26th minute when he hacked down Samp striker Eder as last man in the penalty area, who converted from the spot to put the visitors ahead.

Despite their reduced numbers, Verona levelled through Luca Toni's fourth goal of the season in the 37th minute, but the hosts tired after the break, with goals from...

Saphir Taider slides home the winner.

Sassuolo came from behind to beat Hellas Verona 2-1 on Saturday evening, moving four points clear of their opponents in the Serie A standings.

Vangelis Moras gave the visitors to Reggio Emilia a flying start with a goal in the seventh minute, but Nicola Sansone grabbed a deserved equaliser early in the second half before Saphir Taider earned Sassuolo all three points.

The win extends Sassuolo's unbeaten run to seven games, which includes a draw with Juventus, and gives them confidence for a trip...
