Palermo came from behind to beat Hellas Verona 2-1 at the Stadio Renzo Barbera and climb to seventh place in Serie A.

Panagiotis Tachtsidis gave 14th-placed Verona the lead with a header inside eight minutes but Palermo's in-form striker Paulo Dybala's exquisite finish ensured the scores were level at half-time.

The promoted Sicilians pushed hard for a winner throughout the second half and were ultimately rewarded 11 minutes from time as substitute Andrea Belotti converted Franco Vazquez's cross.

Javier Saviola: I never considered leaving Hellas Verona

Javier Saviola opened his Serie A account against Atalanta last weekend.

Hellas Verona forward Javier Saviola says he has not for one second considered leaving the Serie A club this winter having struggled to make an impact since arriving in August.

Saviola, 33, scored his first goal in Italian football last weekend and claims to be playing in the "most beautiful league" in the world, having previously spent time in Argentina, Spain, France and Greece.

"Tactics are fundamentally important and I think Serie A is the toughest and most beautiful league around," the former...

Hellas Verona bounced back from last week's back-to-back heavy defeats against Juventus with a 1-0 home win over Atalanta on Sunday.

Argentinian striker Javier Saviola celebrated his first Serie A goal of the campaign when he struck the winner eight minutes into the second half to hand Hellas their sixth victory of the season.

The win in Verona has lifted Hellas to 14th place, one spot and four points clear of Atalanta, who suffered their first league defeat since December 13.

Carlos Tevez double takes Juventus five points clear atop Serie A table

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri admits star midfielder Paul Pogba may leave the club at the end of the season.
ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti discusses rumours behind Paul Pogba's possible departure from Turin.
A pair of Carlos Tevez goals fueled a dominant Juve victory over Hellas Verona.

Carlos Tevez scored twice as Juventus moved five points clear at the top of Serie A with a 4-0 win over Hellas Verona.

Goals from Paul Pogba and Tevez inside the first 10 minutes put Juve in total control, though they had to wait until the second half for Roberto Pereyra to add the third before Tevez completed the job.

With second-placed Roma held by Palermo on Saturday, the result gave Massimiliano Allegri's side a comfortable advantage at the summit.
