Juventus' Romulo out for month after hernia operation

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone says the team plan to crowd out Carlos Tevez around the box to prevent him having a big influence in the Champions League game against Juventus.

TURIN, Italy -- Juventus midfielder Romulo will be sidelined for a month after a hernia operation.

The Serie A side say Romulo underwent "successful bilateral sports hernia surgery in Monaco" on Tuesday, and is expected to be back in action in 30 days.

Romulo has played just seven minutes for Juventus since signing on loan from Hellas Verona in the summer.

The point keeps Andrea Mandorlini's men in fifth place with Genoa still three points further behind in eighth.

Former Genoa forward Luca Toni had the first big chance of the game...

Torino were left still waiting for their first win and their first goal of the Serie A season after being beaten 1-0 at home by Hellas Verona.

Artur Ionita's first goal in Italian football midway through the second half was enough for Andrea Mandorlini's men to take away all three points and move up to third in the table.

Omar El Kaddouri missed a penalty for the hosts, who remain rooted to the foot of the table with only one point from their first three games of the season, and still no goal.
