Bayern Munich warmed up for Real Madrid's visit in the semifinals of the Champions League on Wednesday with a comfortable 3-0 win in Hannover.

Substitutes Thomas Mueller and Robert Lewandowski scored in the second half, with Lewandowski taking his Bundesliga-leading tally to 28. Sebastian Rudy completed the scoring late.

Schalke to sign defender Salif Sane from Hannover

Salif Sane is moving from Hannover to Schalke.

Schalke will sign Senegalese defender Salif Sane from Hannover on a four-year contract at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has activated an opt-out clause in his deal with Hannover, which was set to run until June 2020, to make the move to Gelsenkirchen.

Harnik had a header saved just after the half-hour mark as he pressed for a second and Hannover doubled their tally three minutes before the break through Felix Klaus' close-range effort.

Hannover chief demands VAR answers from DFB after equaliser ruled out

Horst Heldt was unimpressed by the VAR intervention against RB Leipzig.

Hannover have demanded a statement from the German FA (DFB) over the use of VAR after they had what appeared to be an equaliser at home to RB Leipzig ruled out.

On Saturday, Hannover had a goal that would have made it 3-3 chalked off for a narrow offside, but pointed out that a Robert Lewandowski goal for Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund from a similar position was not reviewed.

Niclas Fullkrug put the ball past keeper Peter Gulasci but referee Guido Winkmann and VAR official Robert Kampka...
