Sven Schipplock seals move from Hoffenheim to Hamburg

Sven Schipplock has completed a move from Hoffenheim to Hamburg.

Hamburg have reached an agreement for the transfer of striker Sven Schipplock from Hoffenheim.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Hamburg after making 84 Bundesliga appearances and scoring 16 goals for Hoffenheim.

"Sven has decided to seek a new challenge and we wish him all the best," said Hoffenheim's director of football Alexander Rosen on his club's website.

After narrowly escaping relegation from the German Bundesliga with Hamburg, Rafael van der Vaart was unveiled by Real Betis marking the Dutch midfielder's second spell in La Liga.

Rafael van der Vaart has said he would have returned to Tottenham this summer had they made an approach, telling the Daily Mirror that leaving White Hart Lane was the "most stupid" decision of his career.

Van der Vaart, 32, joined Real Betis on a three-year deal last month after his contract at Hamburg expired.

The Dutch midfielder had left Spurs to return to the German side, where he excelled between 2005 and 2008, but he failed to live up to expectations as HSV spent the last two seasons battling...

Emir Spahic grateful to Hamburg after three-month head-butt ban

Emir Spahic joined Leverkusen from Sevilla in 2013.

Emir Spahic has thanked Hamburg for giving him a second chance after the defender was sacked by Bayer Leverkusen for his involvement in a pitchside brawl.

Spahic, 34, had his contract at Leverkusen terminated in April after a fight with the club's security staff at their DFB Pokal match against Bayern Munich.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international was also handed a three-month ban by the German Football Association before Hamburg offered him a one-year deal earlier this month.

Germany U19 captain Jonathan Tah joins Bayer Leverkusen from Hamburg

Jonathan Tah was unable to lead Germany to glory at the European under-19 Championships in Greece.

Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Germany under-19 captain Jonathan Tah from Hamburg.

Tah, 19, has signed a deal with Leverkusen that will tie him to his new club until June 2020.

Germany magazine kicker reports that Leverkusen paid €7.5 million for the defender, who played 23 league matches while on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf last season.

Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a deal to buy Germany under-19 captain Jonathan Tah from Hamburg.

Hamburg have reluctantly decided to part with the 19-year-old centre back, who spent last year on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The Hamburg native will cost Leverkusen under €10 million, excluding performance-related bonuses, according to kicker.
