South Korea youth international Seo Young-Jae joins Hamburg

HAMBURG, Germany -- South Korea youth international Seo Young-Jae has joined Hamburg from Seoul-based side Hanyang University on a busy day for the Bundesliga club.

Hamburg say the 20-year-old Seo has signed a three-year-deal, to 2018, after impressing coach Bruno Labbadia in a trial, and that he will initially join their under-23 team.

Seo, a left-back, has played for South Korea's under-19 and under-21 sides.

Petr Jiracek moves to Sparta Prague from Hamburg

Petr Jiracek has completed a move to Sparta Prague.

PRAGUE -- Sparta Prague say Czech midfielder Petr Jiracek has agreed to move to the club from Hamburg.

Sparta, who play in the top tier of the Czech league, said on Tuesday that Jiracek has signed a four-year contract.

Hamburg have decided against taking Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic on loan in another blow to their preparations for the new Bundesliga season.

The club said they could not guarantee him enough playing time to make a one-year switch financially sensible.

At the weekend, Hamburg had said on their Twitter account that their "interest in the player can't be denied."

But less than a week later, the deal to bring in the 19-year-old Croatian collapsed.
