Granada v Real Madrid: Preview

Despite lying third in La Liga, Zinedine Zidane says the players still believe they can win the title.

Gareth Bale is struggling to be fit for Real Madrid's La Liga clash against relegation battlers Granada on Sunday.

Bale has scored 13 goals for Los Blancos already this season but the winger is still overcoming a calf injury he sustained against Sporting Gijon last month.

A statement on Real Madrid's official club website said Bale ``continued to recover'' during the club's training session on Thursday, along with Pepe, who has a foot injury.

Bale scored a hat-trick in Zinedine Zidane's first game...

Bruno Soriano's second-half penalty saw Villarreal beat Granada 1-0 and return to winning ways.

The captain converted from the spot in the 55th minute after Jean-Sylvain Babin had fouled Roberto Soldado to give Marcelino's side a first win in three matches.

The victory takes Villarreal level with third-placed Real Madrid on 44 points, although the Merengues face Espanyol on Sunday.

Granada stay two points above the relegation zone but the four teams below them all play later this weekend.

Ruben Rochina's powerful strike spared Granada's blushes after they had squandered a two-goal lead against Getafe.

Two goals in the space of four minutes from Stefan Scepovic and Moi Gomez had brought Getafe level out of nothing, but Rochina's rising shot in the 77th minute secured a 3-2 win which lifted them out of the bottom three and eased the pressure on coach Jose Ramon Sandoval.

Granada had been looking comfortable following first-half goals from Fran Rico and Youssef El Arabi.

Sergi Enrich and Borja Baston both scored twice as Eibar thrashed Granada on Monday.

Two goals apiece from Borja Baston and Sergi Enrich helped Eibar to their biggest Primera Division win for 13 months as they beat hapless Granada 5-1.

The home side made it four wins in a row to move back into the top six and in contention for European football after an impressive response when Youssef El-Arabi had briefly made it 2-1 in the second half.

Winger Keko was the star of the show in the opening 45 minutes as he ran the visitors' defence ragged and it was his cross to the far post which...
