Gor Mahia dismiss strike reports despite unpaid wages

Gor Mahia have moved to quash reports that players have staged a strike over salary delay ahead of weekend's Kenyan Premier League match against bottom-placed Thika United.

Only two Gor players showed up for training on Monday morning, with the rest reportedly on strike over delay of their August salaries.

Club Chief Executive Officer Lordvick Aduda has dismissed suggestions that the squad are striking, but did acknowledge that the squad are yet to be paid last month's wages.

Everton confirm date for historic Gor Mahia friendly

Everton have confirmed the date for their historic friendly match against Gor Mahia that will be staged at Goodison Park.

Gor Mahia secured a showdown with the Premier League side after defeating Tanzanian champions Simba SC during the Sportpesa Super Cup that was staged in Nakuru, Kenya.

K'Ogalo won 2-0 in the final played in June 2018 and will now become the first East African side to contest a match in the United Kingdom.

In a statement, Everton have confirmed that they will play Gor on November...

Chiefs confirm capture of Ugandan fullback Walusimbi

Kaizer Chiefs' long pursuit of Godfrey Walusimbi has come to an end after the Ugandan defender penned a three-year deal with the South African club, arriving from Kenyan side Gor Mahia.

The 29-year-old will add to the left full-back stocks that were depleted with the departures of Tsepo Masilela and Sibusiso Khumalo at the end of last season.

Walusimbi has been training with Chiefs for weeks and as such should slip straight into first team contention once his work permit is completed.

Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr believes his team is on course to reach the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup, following their 4-0 win over Young Africans FC on Wednesday.

A brace from Ephraim Guikan, a Jacques Tuyisenge goal and an own goal by Mwinyi Hajji handed the Kenyans a much-needed Group D win at the Kasarani Stadium.

"Two draws and one big win with the boys playing well puts us in a good position. We are on course for the quarterfinals," Kerr told KweséESPN on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia, Simba reach CECAFA Kagame Cup semis

Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC and Tanzanian giants Simba SC have qualified for the semifinals of the CECAFA Kagame Club Championships currently taking place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Gor Mahia had to battle hard against Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC, who took the lead after just 15 minutes through new captain Tadeo Lwanga.

Despite the setback, the Kenyans had the better of the first half, with wingers Innocent Wafula and Godfrey Walusimbi causing constant headaches for...
