Valencia entered an early tie for second place in the Primera Division by cruising to a comfortable 3-0 victory at Getafe.

The visitors' third straight win was secured by first-half goals from Paco Alcacer and Andre Gomes, with Rodrigo Moreno later converting a penalty shortly before seeing red and leaving his team light.

Los Che are now only two points behind Barcelona and level on 10 points with ambitious Sevilla, but Getafe's third defeat of the season leaves them floundering down in 16th spot.

Carlos Bacca's first-half penalty and an Alex Vidal tap-in three minutes from time secured Sevilla a 2-0 Primera Division victory over Getafe at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Sunday.

A first half of few opportunities burst into life when Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita came to meet a Denis Suarez corner three minutes before the break but succeeded only in punching Grzegorz Krychowiak and conceding a penalty which Bacca duly converted.

Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico dived acrobatically to his left...

Pedro Leon angers Hannover for retweeting proof of bid for player

Pedro Leon was left out of Getafe's La Liga squad for the season.

Hannover have hit out at Pedro Leon for making public their summer bid for the Getafe midfielder on Twitter.

Leon, 27, was not registered by Getafe for the current La Liga season due to financial reasons. The former Real Madrid player's salary would have taken the club's 17 million-euro budget over the limit of Liga de Futbol Profesional's (LFP) newly-introduced regulation.

Getafe had tried to sell the player to one of Sevilla, West Ham or Hannover in the summer, but a deal could not be agreed....

Getafe's Pedro Leon left in limbo after omission from La Liga squad

Pedro Leon's footballing opportunities are looking limited for the next four months.

Getafe midfielder Pedro Leon's future is uncertain after his club opted not to register him for the new La Liga season for financial reasons.

The suburban Madrid outfit's agreed 2014-14 budget under the La Liga authorities newly introduced regulations is 17 million euros, and it was apparently decided not to include the former Real Madrid player as his relatively big salary would have taken them over that limit.

Getafe exercised an option to buy the previously on-loan Pedro Leon from Madrid twelve...

Former Swansea striker Alvaro Vazquez hit the only goal of the game to sink Almeria and give Getafe their first win of the new season.

Vazquez was unable to score a single goal during his loan spell in the Premier League but decided the game in just his second appearance since returning to Getafe, bundling the ball home from a couple of yards out.

Cosmin Contra's side were just about worthy winners, although goalkeeper Vicente Guaita was forced to make two top quality saves to prevent an equaliser.
