Giuseppe Rossi's move to Genoa may be held up for another month.

Giuseppe Rossi may have to wait until the winter transfer window opens before being able to make his Genoa debut because of a bureaucratic situation.

The Italian forward has completed a medical, seven and a half months after tearing his knee ligaments while a Celta Vigo player, and he says he is ready to pick up training again.

However, since Celta did not officialise the end of his engagement with them until July, the 30-year-old may have to wait until the transfer window opens before being permitted...

Giuseppe Rossi is back in Italian football after recovering from a knee ligament injury.

Former Italy international Giuseppe Rossi completed his move to Serie A side Genoa on Monday as he hopes to return from the latest in a series of serious knee injuries.

Rossi tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while playing for Spanish club Celta Vigo in April and underwent surgery.

The 30-year-old American-born player had previously injured his right knee multiple times.

Giuseppe Rossi has previously represented Fiorentina and Parma in Serie A.

Giuseppe Rossi took in Genoa's 1-0 Coppa Italia win over Crotone on Thursday night as he prepares to complete his return to Serie A by joining Il Grifone.

Rossi, who has been without a club since being released by Celta Vigo in the summer, posted a tweet of him departing New York's Newark airport on Wednesday, with the hashtag #comeback following the words "next stop Serie A."
