Palermo claimed a narrow 1-0 victory in their opening Serie A match at home to Genoa thanks to a stoppage-time goal from debutant Abdel El Kaoutari.

With seconds remaining, the Moroccan defender got behind a loose ball following a free-kick in Genoa's six-yard box and struck it past opposing goalkeeper Eugenio Lamanna.

The hosts had been unlucky not to break the deadlock earlier in the game at Stadio Renzo Barbera with Luca Rigoni and Franco Vazquez each hitting the crossbar either side of half-time.

ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti talks about AC Milan's recent signings for next season and considers Sinisa Mihajlovic an upgrade over Filippo Inzaghi.
Andrea Bertolacci earned a move to AC Milan after an impressive season at Genoa.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has revealed how he and AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani had a bust-up over Andrea Bertolacci this summer.

Bertolacci spent last season with Genoa, who retained half of his transfer rights. They sold that share to Roma last month for €8.5 million before Milan, just a few days later, signed the player from the Giallorossi for a fee of €20m.

Galliani would have preferred Preziosi to have informed him first of negotiations with Roma, having ultimately spent...
