Arsenal forward Joel Campbell completes Frosinone move

ESPN FC's Craig Burley details the expectations for new managers Maurizio Sarri and Unai Emery ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal's match this weekend.
Arsenal's Unai Emery insists that he has confidence in both Bernd Leno and Petr Cech and their abilities to play out from the back.

Arsenal have sold forward Joel Campbell to Frosinone, ending a seven-year spell at the club that saw him make a number of loan moves.

Costa Rica international Campbell moves to the Serie A side on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, Arsenal said on Friday.

He joined the Gunners in 2011 but only played one full season at the Emirates, making 30 appearances during the 2015-16 campaign.

Campbell spent his first three years as an Arsenal player out on loan while waiting for a work permit, having...

Juventus still the team to beat in Serie A as Napoli, Inter and Milan look to bridge gap

Juventus are the unanimous pick from the FC crew to win Serie A, but not everyone is convinced Cristiano Ronaldo will be player of the year.
ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson and Shaka Hislop square off in predicting the most notable matches to kick-start the 2018/19 Serie A campaign.
Watch Cristiano Ronaldo and the stars of Serie A all season long, with every match from the Italian top flight available on ESPN and ESPN+.

As the Italian season kicks off this weekend, here's a look at Serie A from top to bottom.

Juventus
2017-18 record: W30-D5-L3
2017-18 finish: Champions

Roma's Daniele De Rossi feels Juventus have "killed the league a little" after signing Cristiano Ronaldo. But the same was said two years ago when the Old Lady cannibalised Serie A, mercilessly paying the buy-out clauses of Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic to weaken their domestic rivals (Napoli and Roma respectively). Last season, though,...

Frosinone returns to Serie A after promotion playoff win over Palermo

Frosinone beat Palermo 2-0 in the second leg of their playoff final on Saturday to earn promotion back to Serie A after a two-year absence.

Raffaele Maiello scored early in the first half to erase a 2-1 deficit from the first leg.

That would have been enough to see Frosinone through because they finished higher in the season table, but Camillo Ciano sealed it in stoppage time by finishing off a counter-attack.

Frosinone, located south of Rome, joins Serie B champions Empoli and runners-up Parma...

Hellas Verona seal promotion back to Serie A over Frosinone

Hellas Verona are back in Serie A following their relegation last season.

Hellas Verona sealed an immediate return to Serie A with a draw on the final day of the Serie B season on Thursday.

Verona's goalless draw at Cesena was enough to see them finish second above Frosinone thanks to the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Frosinone beat Pro Vercelli 2-1 but will settle for the playoffs alongside Benevento, Spezia, Cittadella, Carpi and Perugia.

Frosinone would have avoided the playoffs if they had ended the regular season 10 points clear of fourth place. However, Perugia and Benevento...
